Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

I want to get started. How do I begin?

It is simple. Fill out a request for a free 15-minute consultation. I normally respond within 1 to 2 days to find a good time to chat about what you are looking for.

What happens after the initial consultation?

If we both feel we can work together, we can schedule our first session during that initial consultation call. That first appointment might be set up for the following week. If that’s the case, within 24-hours of our consultation call, you will receive an email invitation from my Electronic Health Records (EHR) system directing you to a secure HIPAA-compliant client portal. You will be asked to acknowledge, sign, and complete important paperwork.

What are your fees?

Individual therapy is $300. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy for all scheduled therapy appointments. Appointments canceled with less than 24-hour window will be charged a $100 cancellation fee.

Coaching rates vary. Please consult with me to learn more about my coaching rates and packages.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I am in-network with Aetna in NY and FL.

For folks with other types of insurance, I recommend making the most of your out of network benefits. You can access Nirvana, to calculate what your out of network benefits are. Once you verify your reimbursement, we can file your out-of-network reimbursement. Most insurance companies will reimburse between 60 - 80 percent of your treatment costs.  I can share more about this process at our initial session.

How do I make payments?

To make the process simple, you can make payments with credit or debit through the HIPAA-compliant Electronic Health Records (EHR) system we will use.  Payments are due at time of service.

Where do you practice?

I am a psychologist licensed in New York State and Florida. That means I work with clients throughout New York State and Florida, through a secure HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform. I also provide in-person sessions for trauma-related care.

Coaching services are provided virtually and open globally.

What is your clinical style?

I am warm, empathetic, emotion focused, collaborative, practical, very curious, and highly focused on nurturing a growth fostering relationship between us. I’d also like to think I’m funny. I work to hold your story with compassion and care and help guide you in developing self-appreciation and self-care.

How long before I feel better?

Now, this one is tough to answer. This process is as unique as we each are, and as such, this work is individualized, intimate and uniquely yours. Change depends on several interdependent factors, including your access to social support, your state of change, trust, personality, and access to resources. And overall, you are the one who determines what better means and you’ll know when you arrive there.
